About Whangarei Harmony Chorus

The Whangarei Harmony Chorus has small beginnings in 1992 when 33 women answered an advertisement in the local paper and "The Bellbirds" were formed. The group changed its name to "The Whangarei Harmony Chorus" and charted in 1995 as a Chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

Sweet Adelines International
We are members of an International Organisation of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.

We have been crowned "Best Sweet Adeline Small Chorus in New Zealand" for eight of the last ten years - but most important of all:

  • We believe that we provide some of the best vocal training in New Zealand for the female voice.
  • We have a professional approach to our hobby. We are good at what we do and we have lots of FUN doing it
  • We make use of every educational opportunity
